Man Made God

There was a god.

In infancy, this god saw,
and created skeletons:
motionless things
wrought of dead materials.

In adolescence, this god thought,
and created beasts:
ignorant things
fueled by living forces.

In maturity, this god knew,
and created men:
capable things
simulacra of the god itself.

In age, this god fell,
and succumbed to its creation:
this god was once a man,
now slain by an infant god.
